A two vehicle accident on Peavine Road at Woodgate Drive in Cumberland County Wednesday afternoon left one injured. The report states a 2011 Acura driven by 67-year-old Deborah Mount Akins of Cleveland, Tennessee pulled out into the path of a 2007 Dodge Dakota operated by 49-year-old Saundra Kay Byrge of Fairfield Glade, Troopers say Byrge was traveling at a high rate of speed and collided with Akins. Byrge was injured in the accident and was later charged with reckless driving and failure to exercise due care. Akins was also charged with failure to exercise due care. Passengers in the vehicles involved, 65-year-old Mary Ann Brown of Crossvillle and 89-year-old Sallie Turner Guy of Fairfield Glade, were not hurt in the accident.
