TWRA IDENTIFIES TWO MEN THAT DIED IN HARDIN COUNTY FISHING ACCIDENT

The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency identified two men killed in a fishing accident at the Pickwick Dam in Hardin County. Chester County residents 32-year-old Casey Cox and 69-year-old Michael Ray Terry were killed after their boat was sucked through the dam’s spillway. TWRA does not believe the two men were related. According to the TWRA, the crash happened around 11 a.m. yesterday (Wednesday, April 26, 2017) but it was a while before their flat-bottom style boat was notice and TWRA was notified. The boat was sucked through the spillway portion of the dam located on the lake side. There was a lot of turbulent water at the time of the crash due to tail water spilling while the generators were running. Cox and Terry’s bodies were found several miles downstream from the site of the crash.
