The TWRA is investigating a boat crash in Blount County that could have involved alcohol. The wreck was reported around 3 AM Sunday morning at Ft. Loudon Lake. Three people were onboard the boat. They reportedly told authorities that they were coming back from a “night of recreation.” The boat crashed into an unoccupied, private boat dock. The boat went airborne after it struck the dock and then landed on another boat located nearby. The boaters received minor injuries. Two of the passengers were detained while the operator fled the scene. He was later arrested after a sobriety test was given to him.
