U-HAUL VAN TIRES GET SLASHED AT HOTEL PARKING LOT
On March 3, 2026, an officer from the Crossville Police Department responded to a vandalism report at the Quality Inn. The complainant had rented a white 2026 Ford box van, a U-Haul vehicle, and parked it overnight in the hotel parking lot. When he returned to the vehicle that morning, he discovered that the passenger-side front tire was flat, with visible stab marks on the sidewall.
The responding officer, Lt. Jonathan O’Neal, personally observed the stab marks and the deflated tire. Although hotel video surveillance was reviewed, no clear suspect could be identified due to obstructed camera views at times; the footage did show the tire going from fully inflated to flat over the period the vehicle was parked, but no individual was positively linked to the damage.
The incident was classified as vandalism, with the tire (valued at $500) documented as damaged or destroyed.
No suspect or offender information was obtained, and the case remains without an identified perpetrator.
