U.S. MARSHALS TRACKING FUGITIVE IN TENNESSEE; WANTED FOR 2ND-DEGREE MURDER
The United States Marshals Service Middle Tennessee Fugitive Task Force and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) are searching for 38-year-old Jesse Wayne Phillips, who has been placed on the TBI’s Most Wanted List for second-degree murder. Phillips is accused of fatally shooting Christopher B. Yates during a dispute on May 27 along Parker Road, an incident local law enforcement notes occurred in Pickett County, Tennessee.
Following the shooting, Phillips fled in a small black pickup truck with a yellow hood, which was later recovered by a deputy at a home on Norman Cole Road in Clinton County, Kentucky, where Phillips was last known to be on May 28. Considered armed and dangerous with an extensive history of violence, Phillips remains at large. He is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 225 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and features distinct tattoos, including a skull on his right upper arm, the word “outlaw” on his right elbow, and barbed wire/tribal patterns on his left upper arm.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest, and anyone with information is urged to contact the USMS at 1-877-WANTED2, the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND, or call 911.
