An accident this morning at the 335 westbound mile marker of I-40 in eastern Cumberland County has resulted in westbound traffic being closed at the scene. As of 5:30 p.m. central, the estimated time of clearing is 8 p.m. central. It is recommended that westbound traffic coming from Knoxville divert south on Highway 27 af Rockwood/Harriman exit, travel south to Spring City then take Highway 68 to Crossville to get back on interstate. As of 5:30 pm central, westbound traffic is backed up from scene all the way to just west of the rockwood harriman exit (14 mile backup). Traffic is also bumper to bumper from Highway 70 from Westel to Crab Orchard.
