UPDATE: DRIVER OF TRACTOR TRAILER INVOLVED IN ROANE CO. ACCIDENT TAKEN TO VANDERBILT BURN UNIT
The Tennessee Highway Patrol released their report today of a tractor-trailer accident on I-40 in Roane County Saturday. Troopers say a 2016 Kenworth operated by 48-year-old Micahel Davis of Oklahoma was traveling westbound at the 345 mile marker when the vehicle left the road, struck a guardrail, went down an embankment and hit several trees. The tractor-trailer then caught on fire. The cab was burned to unrecognition and much of the trailer was destroyed. Davis was flown from the scene by Lifestar to U.T. Medical Center. He was later transferred to Vanderbilt Intensive Care Burn Unit for treatment of injuries sustained. The accident resulted in westbound traffic being closed for hours between the Rockwood/Harriman and Airport Road exits.
