Jamestown Regional Medical Center will be staying open, at least for now, according to Fentress County Executive Jimmy Johnson.

Johnson made the announcement yesterday after taking part in a conference call with Rennova Healthcare officials. Rennova Healthcare is the owner of the Jamestown hospital. Johnson said the company had paid the back taxes due to the IRS and had forwarded a copy of the check to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid as confirmation of payment.

“As of right now, [JRMC] is open, business as usual, on day to day operations,” Johnson said.
