A man seriously injured in a hit and run in Blount County this past Friday night has passed away. Sheriff James Lee Berrong confirmed today 36-year-old Troy Christopher Sample died from injuries sustained. The sheriff’s office has identified a suspect in the case and charges are pending. The vehicle used in the accident, a Nissan Frontier, was temporarily seized by the sheriff’s department. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
