Cumberland County officials have released the name of the woman shot and killed last evening at 8610 Cherokee Trail in Lake Tansi.

Sheriff Casey Cox confirmed 74-year-old Linda Damewood died in the shooting, which was reported shortly after 6:30 last evening.

Damewood was one of three victims said to have been transported by Cumberland County Emergency Medical Services to Cumberland Medical Center. The other two victims have not been identified; their conditions remain unknown. The sheriff’s office subsequently reported one of the two was expected to be transferred to a regional trauma center for treatment.

Special agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are assisting the sheriff’s department in the investigation.

A Cumberland County deputy at the scene told 1057 News this afternoon the investigation remains active and ongoing. He was unable to confirm any additional information about the circumstances of the shooting.
