New details were released today regarding a Virginia man who was arrested last week following a violent domestic incident and the recovery of $10,000 in stolen property appeared in court on Thursday, August 27, 2026, to face initial local charges.

Bradley Wayne Hoffman, represented by the Public Defender’s office, appeared in court to face charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault filed by Crossville Police Officer Nathan Ramson on August 24.

The charges stem from an August 22 incident where officers intercepted a U-Haul vehicle following a Be-On-The-Lookout (BOLO) alert. According to police reports, a female passenger stated Hoffman attempted to run her over, struck her multiple times, and forcibly dragged her back into the vehicle. Officers observed visible injuries and reviewed video footage corroborating the account.

During the traffic stop, a records check revealed Hoffman also had three extraditable warrants from Virginia for statutory burglary, driving while intoxicated, and unauthorized use of an animal. Additionally, law enforcement recovered roughly $10,000 worth of stolen maintenance equipment—including a Kubota snow pro plow, an Echo leaf blower, and a Spectra Precision laser level—along with drug paraphernalia.

While Hoffman has begun addressing his local kidnapping and aggravated assault charges in court, authorities confirmed that he will face his remaining warrants and additional out-of-state charges in due time.
