VOLKSWAGEN ANNOUNCES CASH SETTLEMENTS WITH DEALERS
Auto manufacturer Volkswagen has announced that 652 dealers affected by the company’s diesel emissions scandal will get cash payments. The settlement comes after dealers complained their problems were not addressed in Volkswagen’s $15 billion emissions settlement. VW says the payments will resolve alleged past, current, and future claims of losses in franchise value. The settlement amount has not yet been disclosed. One of VW’s chief plants is in Chattanooga.
