Today Volkswagen is unveiling its new mid-sized SUV, the Atlas. The new model is the product of a huge expansion of the VW Chattanooga plant and will join the Passat on the assembly line. The expansion brings a $900M investment to the plant while adding 2000 new jobs. The reveal comes days after a federal judge approved the company’s $15B settlement for it’s 2015 emissions cheating scandal. That is the largest settlement for an auto scandal in U.S. history.
