VOLS CRUSH SAINT PETERS IN FIRST ROUND OF NCAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

The University of Tennessee men’s basketball team soundly defeated 15th-seed Saint Peter’s last night 83-49 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Sixth-ranked, second-seeded Tennessee (25-8, 14-4 SEC) led wire-to-wire at Spectrum Center and got a game-best 23 points from fifth-year guard Dalton Knecht, who entered the top five on the program’s single-season scoring list.

The Volunteers advance to the Round of 32 against Texas. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, March 23, 2024) live on CBS.
