A late-night disturbance at a local Waffle House early Saturday morning resulted in multiple charges for a Crossville woman following a chaotic scene involving an alleged physical assault, public undress, and suspected intoxication.

According to the Crossville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the restaurant around 12:46 AM on August 22, 2026, regarding a disorderly female subject. Upon arrival, responding officers encountered 38-year-old Heather Carwile standing near a Volkswagen Beetle with a luggage bag, displaying signs of intoxication, including rapid speech, exaggerated movements, and a prominent bump on her forehead.

Waffle House employees reported that Carwile had approached a patron’s booth and struck them in the face with a closed fist, triggering a physical scuffle that left her with the forehead injury. The other party involved had departed before police arrived.

Witnesses and video surveillance indicated that after leaving the restaurant, Carwile removed her clothing in the parking lot until she was completely unclothed. She then entered the parked vehicle and attempted to locate keys to drive. The vehicle owner declined to press burglary charges since the car was broken down.

Due to her level of intoxication and inability to make rational decisions, Carwile was taken into custody. Surveillance footage corroborated accounts of the assault, disorderly conduct, and indecent exposure.

Carwile was transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center and booked on charges of Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, and Indecent Exposure.
