Warm and quiet weather continues Wednesday across the Cumberland Plateau and Tennessee Valley. Sunshine will be plentiful, with highs near 79 on the plateau and around 81 in the valley. Wednesday night stays mostly clear, although some patchy fog could develop on the Cumberland Plateau. Lows will be in the middle 50s.

Thursday and Friday remain dry and warmer than normal. Thursday brings highs in the lower 80s on the Cumberland Plateau and middle 80s in the Tennessee Valley, followed by similar temperatures Friday. Clouds begin increasing Friday night as the next weather system approaches.

The pattern changes Saturday. Showers become more likely during the afternoon, with a 50 percent chance across both regions and cooler highs in the 70s. Rain becomes widespread Saturday night, with thunderstorms possible and some gusty winds on the Cumberland Plateau. Wet weather continues Sunday, with an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms across both regions. Highs Sunday will only reach around 70 on the plateau and middle 70s in the valley.
