HIGHWAY 61 REOPENS IN OLIVER SPRINGS FOLLOWING MAJOR GAS LINE LEAK AND REPAIRS
A section of Highway 61, also known as Tri-County Boulevard, has reopened to traffic following a major gas line leak that forced a complete shutdown in both directions on Monday night.
City street department crews responded to the incident at approximately 8:45 p.m. After assessing the situation, officials determined that the compromised gas line required an emergency replacement, prompting the immediate closure of the highway.

Detours: Motorists were temporarily rerouted using Hidden Valley Road, Kellytown Church Road, and Semi Cemetery Road.

Duration: Repair crews worked through the night, successfully completing the fix and clearing the roadway in about five hours.
No injuries or ongoing hazards have been reported following the completion of the repairs.
