WARRANT SIGNED FOR GATES FOR BURGLARY

Crossville police responded to a store early this morning on the corner of West Avenue and Elmore Road for a theft. A female told officers she parked her truck and went into the establishment. She came out and someone informed her a man reached into the vehicle by way of an open window, took items including a lunch box and ran off. By way of video surveillance, police identified the suspect, 26-year-old Matthew Wayne Gates, listed as homeless from prior contacts. The box was recovered but a cell phone was also stolen and not found. A warrant was signed for Gates for burglary.
