WARRANTS ISSUED ON FORMER HILLTOPPERS EMPLOYEE FOR EMBEZZLEMENT

On September 8, 2025, Officer Jackie Grant responded to a reported theft at Hilltoppers, where she met with the director, who explained that caretaker Charity Wood had been terminated on August 4, 2025, following a failed drug test while assigned to a client at Mockingbird Drive, where Wood had access to the client’s SNAP EBT card.

Hilltoppers observed unauthorized spending of $130 transferred to the card on August 11, including a transaction at Tansi’s Dollar General that day and another at Walmart on August 12 for $79.23; video footage from Walmart’s loss prevention confirmed Wood as the user, identified via photographs and her Tennessee driver’s license on file.

Additionally, the director reported unsuccessful attempts to recover Hilltoppers’ property issued to Wood upon hiring—a Dell Inspiron 15 3511 laptop valued at $290.99 and a Samsung S21 FE phone valued at $250—despite Wood claiming the laptop was left in a desk drawer at the residence, where searches by staff yielded no results.

Multiple calls to Wood went unanswered, and the director provided a written statement. Warrants were subsequently issued for Wood on charges related to the SNAP EBT misuse, laptop, and phone, with the devices entered into NCIC.
