WATER RESCUE REPORTED IN MEIGS COUNTY
On February 13, 2026, at 3:23 p.m., Meigs County emergency services responded to a water rescue incident at Watts Bar Lake near Euchee Marina.
A vessel had become stuck on a sandbar, leading to a coordinated multi-county agency effort focused on recovering the boat. Watts Bar Lake’s shifting sandbars and fluctuating water levels often create such hazards for boaters venturing outside marked channels.
Responders urged drivers to slow down, move over for emergency vehicles, and avoid restricted areas to ensure safe access. No injuries were reported, with the operation centered on vessel recovery rather than life-saving measures.
