WAYNE COUNTY, KENTUCKY, HOME BURGLARIES UNDER INVESTIGATION; FIVE JUVENILES, ONE ADULT CHARGED

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron, an investigation into several home burglaries by the Sheriff’s Office has resulted in five juveniles and one adult being charged in relation to the burglaries. A total of four residences were burglarized which occurred in the Conley Bottom area of Wayne County in early February. Some of the residences and property suffered damage during the burglaries, with a cost of damage being over $12,500.

Following an investigation, five juveniles and one adult were charged.

Two of the juveniles were charged with three counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of third-degree burglary; a third juvenile was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of third-degree burglary. A fourth juvenile was charged with one count of second-degree burglary and one count of third-degree burglary. The fifth juvenile was charged with one count of second-degree burglary. Four of the juveniles were from Pulaski County, and the fifth from Wayne County.

The adult, Janet Cann of Monticello, Kentucky, was charged with six counts of third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

All six cases have been turned over to the Wayne County Court Designate Worker’s Office and Wayne County Attorney Tom Simmons for prosecution. The investigation is continuing.
