SHOTS FIRED IN ROCKWOOD; WOMAN FACES ATTEMPTED-MURDER CHARGES
Around 10 a.m. Eastern Time today, Rockwood police responded to shots fired at the Heritage Hills Apartments near Walmart.
According to Rockwood Police Chief Bill Stinnett, officers arrived within minutes to the scene where Linda Flannagan apparently shot at her daughter, 27-year-old Sarah Phillips, and Kent Booher, inside a vehicle outside the main office of the apartments.
Stinnett said Flannagan opened fire with a .357 magnum, getting off several rounds before officers got her to put down the weapon. They immediately took her into custody.
Stinnett said the police investigation determined Flannagan didn’t want her daughter associating with Booher, a disbarred attorney.
The chief added the two in the car were fortunate not to be hit by the bullets. The car windows were struck by gunfire, and there were several rounds fired on the outer perimeter of the vehicle. No one was injured.
Flannagan faces charges of attempted murder and possibly aggravated assault with a weapon.
