WEEKEND SUNSHINE GIVES WAY TO STORMY WEATHER

Regional Forecast — Cumberland Plateau & Tennessee Valley

Dry and pleasant weather will continue through Saturday with comfortable temperatures and low humidity. Rain and thunderstorm chances return Sunday and become widespread Sunday night into Monday as a stronger storm system moves through the region.

Juneteenth (Thursday): Mostly sunny and pleasant. Highs around 80 on the Cumberland Plateau and 84 in the Tennessee Valley. Light north winds.

Thursday Night: Partly to mostly cloudy. Patchy fog may develop late across portions of the Plateau. Lows around 57 on the Plateau and 60 in the Valley.

Saturday: Morning clouds giving way to sunshine. Highs around 83 on the Plateau and 86 in the Valley. Light winds.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear. Lows around 62 on the Plateau and 64 in the Valley.

Father’s Day (Sunday): First day of summer. Mostly sunny with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms developing. Highs around 84 on the Plateau and 87 in the Valley. Chance of rain 30 to 50 percent.

Sunday Night: Showers and thunderstorms becoming widespread overnight. Breezy at times with gusts up to 25 mph on the Plateau. Lows around 69 on the Plateau and 70 in the Valley. Chance of rain 80 percent.

Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely throughout the day. Highs around 79 on the Plateau and 83 in the Valley. Chance of rain 90 percent.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely, especially during the evening. Lows around 64 on the Plateau and 67 in the Valley. Chance of rain 70 percent.
