WEEKLY EAST TENNESSEE ROAD CONSTRUCTION REPORT (JUNE 11 – 17)

ANDERSON COUNTY, SR 9 between Church Street and Kincaid Street: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures as utility crews perform work in this area.  Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect potential delays, changing traffic patterns, and use extreme caution through this area.

ANDERSON COUNTY, SR 61 between Bill Key Lane and Old Batley Road: Motorists should be alert for possible daily lane closures during daylight hours through this construction project. Motorists should be alert for slowed or stopped traffic, expect potential delays, and use extreme caution through this area.

BLOUNT COUNTY, US 129/ SR 115 Tail of the Dragon: Due to the one lane condition of Interstate 40 near the Tennessee and North Carolina State Line as repairs continue from Hurricane Helene, this is a reminder for commercial vehicles in Tennessee and North Carolina attempting to use US 129 as an alternate around the I-40 work zone. No trucks with trailers over 30 feet in length, or single units over 30 feet in length are permitted on US 129 “The Dragon” in Tennessee or North Carolina. Thru truck traffic in Tennessee should follow I-81 North to I-26 East into North Carolina. These restrictions of US 129 will be strictly enforced day and night.

BLOUNT COUNTY, US 411/ SR 33 between Henry Street and Hudson Street: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and/or 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform roadwork activities.  Motorists should be alert for workers present, slow traffic, expect potential delays, and use extreme caution through this area.

BLOUNT COUNTY, SR 73 near Log Mile 1.3: Motorists should be alert for possible temporary lane closures between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. as crews perform geotechnical roadwork activities.  Motorists should be alert for workers present, slow traffic, expect potential delays, and use extreme caution through this area.

BLOUNT COUNTY, SR 162 Pellissippi Parkway between Cusick Road and SR 33: SR 162 is reduced from two lanes to one through this project as construction crews perform bridge work in this area.  Motorists should be alert for possible brief rolling roadblocks between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily, as needed, for blasting operations. Motorists should be alert for changed conditions; workers present and use extreme caution through this area.

LOUDON COUNTY, US 321/ SR 73 Bridges over Tellico Lake and SR 444: The US 321/ SR 73 bridges over Tellico Lake and SR 444 (Tellico Parkway) are reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repairs.  In addition, the exit ramp from US 321 southbound to SR 444 (Tellico Parkway) westbound is closed. A detour is in place for Southbound US 321 motorists wishing to access SR 444 utilizing SR 335, SR 33 (U.S. 411), and SR 72 to SR 444.  Motorists should be alert for workers present, slow or stopped traffic, expect delays, and use extreme caution through this area.

LOUDON/ ROANE COUNTY, SR 95 Bridge over Clinch River: The SR 95 Bridge over the Clinch River is reduced to one lane controlled by a temporary traffic signal through this bridge repair project.  This closure will remain in place around the clock. Motorists should be alert for new traffic patterns, be prepared to stop, expect delays, and use extreme caution through this area.  A wide-load detour is in place.  To avoid delays, motorists should consider alternate routes.

MONROE COUNTY, I-75 North and South at Exit 62: Motorists should be alert for closed shoulders, reduced speeds, and use extreme caution through this project.

MONROE COUNTY, SR 322 Oakland Road at I-75: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures with flag persons directing traffic as crews perform roadway work in this area.  Motorists should be alert for workers present and use extreme caution in this area.

MORGAN COUNTY, SR 62 over Little Clear Creek: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures at various times through this project. Motorists should be alert for workers present, changing conditions, and use extreme caution through this area.

ROANE COUNTY, I-40 East between Mile Markers 340 and 341: Motorists should be alert for closed shoulders, reduced speeds, and use extreme caution through this project.

ROANE COUNTY, US 27 at SR 61: Motorists should be alert for new traffic patterns and possible lane closures at various times through this project. Motorists should be alert for workers present, changing conditions, and use extreme caution through this area.

ROANE/ LOUDON COUNTY, SR 95 Bridge over Clinch River: The SR 95 Bridge over the Clinch River is reduced to one lane controlled by a temporary traffic signal through this bridge repair project.  This closure will remain in place around the clock.
