WELL-KNOWN BUSINESSMAN IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY PASSES AWAY

A well-known businessman in Cumberland County passed away yesterday after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

Jerry Wayne Brown was born in Crossville and graduated from Cumberland County High School.

Jerry began his working career as a surveyor for the State of Tennessee and then at TVA as a surveyor. He and his wife Sue took a leap of faith in their early marriage and purchased what was then Home Supply on Lantana Road. The business grew and moved to a larger full-building supply location that is now Cumberland Components.

He is often remembered for being someone who helped a young family build their first home after buying Home Supply.

His passion for the restoration of antique cars and trucks delivered beautiful vehicles and turned into a business of restoring and selling early 1970s Chevrolet trucks.

There will be a graveside service at Green Acres Cemetery this Sunday (October 15, 2023) at 3 p.m. Central.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Tennessee, Inc., the Cumberland’s, 390 South Lowe Avenue, Suite I, Cookeville, Tennessee 38501

Bilbrey Funeral Home in Crossville is in charge of arrangements.
