The wife of Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster has passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rebecca Foster was well known in Cumberland County for her service to the community.

She served as the district director for Congressman John Rose.

Foster accepted the district director job in 2019 after serving as Chief Nursing Officer of Cumberland Medical Center for six years. She spent 29 years in health care before taking the job in Congressman Rose’s Cookeville office.

“Rebecca knew each day and the good things in it are blessings from God,” said Congressman Rose. “She kept cheerful faith throughout a painful health struggle. She was a light, full of life, and was a leader for our team. Her light will continue to shine through her husband, her two children, her very precious granddaughter, her parents, and many other friends and family.”

Rebecca attended Clarkrange High School and graduated in 1986. She went on to Tennessee Tech studying nursing and nursing informatics.

Rebecca was a wonderful person who influenced so many individuals with her positive spirit.
