WILD WEATHER IN 24 HOURS ON THE PLATEAU FROM FLOODING TO SNOW

What a difference 24 hours makes….in February!

Yesterday, the coverage area experienced high temperatures near 60 with flooding from several inches of rainfall.

Residents woke up this morning to up to an inch or better of snow on the ground, mainly in Cumberland County, with temperatures in the upper 20’s before daybreak.

A winter weather advisory has been extended until noon today (Friday, February 7, 2020) for the Upper Cumberland region.

Numerous accidents took place in Cumberland County between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. and of the time of writing this story, more are taking place.

Cumberland County EMA advises motorists to stay off the roads unless it is vital you have to travel.

Any melting of the snow will quickly turn into ice just before nightfall this evening as the low temperature is expected to be 25 in Crossville.

The only good day of the next seven days is Sunday with sunny skies and a high temperature of around 52 on the plateau.

More rain comes back into the coverage area next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
