The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for portions of the East Tennessee Mountains – including Southeast Monroe County and the Smoky Mountains in Blount County – in effect until 7 PM EST this evening.

South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to around 50 mph expected.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
