A wind advisory will be in effect Thursday for wind gusts to 40 miles an hour. Showers and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and Thursday night. Most of the severe threat will be to our west and south but I will be watching it for you. Friday will be a cold day as we struggle to get above 40 and there could be a few very early morning flurries. The weekend is looking Sunny with highs in the 50s. Stay tuned throughout the day on Thursday and I will keep you updated on this active weather

I have a few long-range projections for you. I think the spring is going to be warmer than normal and the risk of severe thunderstorms unfortunately will be higher than average across Tennessee. We are expecting a hot summer with every month having above-normal temperatures through August and quite a few days in the 90s.
