Winfred Leon Potter, age 86, of Crossville, passed away October 6, 2019. He was born June 17, 1933 in Crossville, the son of Floyd and Arbana Potter. He was a retired machinist from Mallory’s in Sparta and was also a United States Navy veteran having served our country during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of Homestead Baptist Church. He is survived by his sons: David Potter of Crossville, Dan Potter (Tammy) of Ocean Gate, Florida, and Don Potter of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter: Connie Tacke (Edward) of Crossville; grandchildren: Ivy Brown, Daniel Potter, Nathan Potter, Vanessa Potter, Lindsay Potter, Justin Potter, Eli Kerley, Rachel Briar Kerley and Emily Regan Tacke; and great grandchildren: Ellie Popplewell and Isaiah Tillerey. Funeral services will be held Friday October 11, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date.
