WINNINGHAM CHARGED WITH BURGLARY

Cumberland County deputies responded Friday to an area near the 4,000 block of Flynn’s Cove Road for a male in the roadway yelling and holding a sawed-off shotgun. Authorities say in the report 43-year-old Elmus Lee Winningham of Crossville got out of a vehicle raising his voice with no one around him then walked into a nearby wooded area. A small bottle containing meth was supposedly found in the automobile Winningham left. Just before officers arrived, a single gunshot was heard close by. Dispatch then received a call Winningham was in a barn on the 3,800 block of the road. He was arrested for burglary, possession of a firearm while under the influence and unlawful possession of a weapon.
