WINTER STORM WATCH ISSUED FOR PLATEAU
The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WATCH for the following counties in Tennessee:
CUMBERLAND, MORGAN, FENTRESS, PICKETT, OVERTON, PUTNAM, WHITE, VAN BUREN, and BLEDSOE
The following counties in Kentucky are in the watch:
CLINTON, CUMBERLAND and WAYNE
The watch goes into effect Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 6 p.m. central and is scheduled to expire at 6 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
Heavy mixed precipitation is possible. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of up to two tenths of an inch possible. Travel will be very difficult. Although confidence is high that significant winter weather will impact the area Sunday night through Monday night, the details including exact snow and ice amounts are subject to change. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages.
