WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER FORCING HER WAY INTO HOME NEAR FAIRFIELD GLADE

Cumberland County deputies responded late yesterday to a home on Orlie Young Road off Peavine Road near Fairfield Glade to an unknown female forcing entry into a home.

The homeowner told officers she was eating dinner in her kitchen when she heard several loud bangs outside the residence at her side door.

She got up from the table and saw an unknown female kicking on her side door screaming “I am going to kick this door in.” The intruder left that door and walked up the steps to her front door. It was kicked repeatedly, causing the door to be forced open.

The intruder, identified as 45-year-old Emily Marie Smith of Pleasant Ridge, Maine, entered the residence. Smith reportedly screamed, “Where is Daniel? I want my money.” No one was at or resided at the home by that name.

The homeowner called 911, and Smith fled the scene to another residence.

Deputies encountered Smith about 500 feet from the home of the victim.

The report states officers believe Smith was under the influence of an intoxicant.

Smith was arrested for aggravated burglary. She was taken to the Cumberland County jail and placed under an initial bond of $10,000.
