WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER HIT AND RUN CRASH IN ROANE COUNTY

BBBTV12 – ROANE COUNTY, Tenn. — A local couple is recovering from serious injuries following a frightening hit-and-run incident that occurred while they were on their way to pick up their daughter from school.
Jennifer Bolden and her husband, Jamie Bolden, were driving on Wednesday when their vehicle was struck by a car traveling at an estimated 80 to 90 miles per hour. According to Jennifer, the other vehicle sped through a field, went airborne, and landed directly on their car. She says if she hadn’t slammed on the brakes at the exact moment she did, the outcome could have been fatal.
Both Jennifer and Jamie sustained back injuries and other trauma, but thankfully survived the crash. “We are very beat up—broken backs and all—but we are alive and that’s all that matters,” Jennifer shared in a public statement.
The couple expressed deep gratitude to the witnesses who stayed at the scene, gave statements to police, and assisted them until emergency crews arrived. First responders, including EMTs and rescue squad personnel, quickly provided medical care at the scene.
Authorities arrested Elexis Burns in connection with the hit-and-run crash that injured Jennifer and Jamie Bolden earlier this week.
Burns is charged with:
Driving on a Revoked License
Duty to Give Information and Render Aid
Reckless Endangerment
Aggravated Reckless Driving
Immediate Notice of Accident
Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Property Damage Only
The crash occurred when a vehicle reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed went airborne from a nearby field and landed on the Boldens’ car. Both victims sustained back injuries.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the investigation or court proceedings.
The Boldens are asking for prayers as they begin the road to recovery and deal with insurance matters related to the crash.
