WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER USING MOVIE MONEY TO BUY GOODS AT WEIGLE’S

On March 30, 2025, at around 9:58 PM, Officer Jacob Ogle responded to a report at Weigle’s where a female suspect used counterfeit money to purchase items. The employee reported that the suspect, described as wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and having dark hair, bought a 16 oz. Ice Cap, a Bosco Cheese stick, and three Jumbo Bucks Lottery tickets at around 7:59 PM. The suspect paid with fake currency marked “motion picture” and received $1.42 in change. After noticing the counterfeit money, the employee attempted to confront the woman, but she fled the scene.

While Officer Ogle was still at Weigle’s, Deputy Atkinson spotted a matching suspect, later identified as Sarah Morgan, walking north on Hwy 70 North. After being read her rights, Morgan admitted to the act and initially claimed she found the counterfeit money outside Corner Stone Baptist Church. She was arrested and taken to Cumberland County Jail. During transport, she changed her story, stating she received the fake money from a man, who also tried to give her a counterfeit $100 bill.

Lt. Jared South investigated the church location and found a counterfeit $100 bill, which was photographed, seized, and later destroyed. The counterfeit $5 and $10 bills used at Weigle’s were placed into evidence. The stolen merchandise, valued at $15, was not recovered. Photos of the counterfeit $100 bill were uploaded to digital evidence.
