WOMAN ARRESTED FOR HIT-AND-RUN IN CROSSVILLE

On August 8, 2025, city units responded to a vehicle accident with possible injuries at West Avenue and Elmore in Crossville. Upon arrival, Officer Jeremy Beard observed multiple vehicles in the roadway and was informed by a witness that the female driver involved had fled east on Elmore Road, followed by another witness in a truck.

Officer Beard pursued and located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of Express Employment at 848 Livingston Road. He identified the driver as Heidi Woodruff, who claimed she left the scene to clear the roadway, despite passing several businesses. Checks revealed the vehicle’s tag was not on file, the vehicle was unregistered, and Ms. Woodruff’s license was suspended.

She was taken into custody, and the damaged vehicle was towed. Officer Beard transported Ms. Woodruff to the Cumberland County Justice Center, where she was charged with driving on a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident.
