From the Pickett County Sheriff’s Office:
The Pickett County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with The Fentress County Sheriff’s Office, The Counter Drug Task Force, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections, recently completed a lengthy investigation into multiple individuals attempting to smuggle drugs into the Fentress County Jail. Padra Jean West (53) of Jamestown, TN was arrested in Pickett County on August 20, 2025 for two counts of 39-17-417 Manufacture, Sell, and Delivery of Controlled Substance and 39-16-201 Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution. She is being held on a $120,000.00 bond.
Thanks to the dedication and teamwork of all agencies involved, the drop in Pickett County was intercepted before it ever reached the Fentress County Jail. As a result, six (6) other individuals were charged in connection with this case in Fentress County.
This investigation is another example of our ongoing commitment to fight the drug problem that threatens our community. We will continue to work tirelessly with all our law enforcement partners to keep drugs off our streets, out of our Jails, and most importantly away from our families.
“The safety of Pickett County will always be our top priority.” said Sheriff Dowdy.
