WOMAN ARRESTED ON LANTANA WITH METH

Yesterday, Deputy Tyler Leary was traveling on Lantana Road and observed a black Nissan Xterra in the gravel lot of Poore Storage on Lantana Road. The deputy turned around to see if anybody was in the vehicle and when he approached he observed a woman named Kadee Fowler in the driver’s seat with a male in the passenger seat.

Alternative to speak with the driver, she was acting very quiet and letting her passengers speak for her. When she was asked to step out of the vehicle she said she could get out but she was barefoot and had to put shoes on.

After stepping out, the driver said she was waiting for someone to get her gas because her car ran out. The deputy asked for, and was granted, consent to search the vehicle and while searching he located a torch on the dash and in the passenger seat.

After searching the vehicle, the deputy noticed footprints in the snow leading to a ditch by the road. He followed the footprints to the ditch and found two pipes, pipes which are commonly used to smoke methamphetamine.

Fowler was read her Miranda Rights and said the pipes were not hers and that she only went to the ditch to use the bathroom.

The male passenger also denied ownership of the pipes. Fowler was asked if she had anything illegal on her and was told that if she brought it into the jail there would be another charge, however, she denied having anything illegal on her multiple times.

Deputy Richardson’s K-9 unit, Kilo, performed a free-air sniff of the vehicle and was alerted to the odor of narcotics. Fowler was transported to Cumberland County intake for booking for tampering with evidence. Correctional Officer Lindsey Miller located a small bag containing 2.32 grams of methamphetamine on Fowler’s person during a strip search.

Fowler would be charged with bringing drugs into a penal facility, tampering with evidence, and possession of meth.
