WOMAN ARRESTED WITH METH AND HEROIN DURING TRAFFIC STOP IN CROSSVILLE
According to a report by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, on February 15, 2026, at approximately 6:58 p.m., Deputy Tyler Leary initiated a consensual encounter with a white 2004 Chevrolet Silverado truck on Cow Pen Road after observing it make an abrupt turn. The driver admitted to having a revoked driver’s license, and he claimed he was looking for someone named Tom to seek work; however, the homeowner confirmed she did not know the driver or recognize the vehicle and requested that it be removed from her property.
The driver consented to a search of the truck. The passenger was identified as Lillian Lorraine Hitchcock (age 40, white female, resident of Crossville). Dispatch revealed that Hitchcock had three active warrants from the Crossville Police Department: two for criminal trespass and one for theft of merchandise.
She was placed in handcuffs and, when asked, admitted to possessing illegal substances hidden on her person. She retrieved two baggies: one containing approximately 4.73 grams of a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, and the other with about 0.20 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be heroin. These were seized as evidence.
Hitchcock was arrested on-view and transported to the Cumberland County Intake facility for booking. She faces charges including possession of methamphetamine, simple possession, theft of merchandise, and two counts of criminal trespass.
Her court date is set for March 23, 2026, with bonds totaling $6,500. The substances were submitted for TBI laboratory testing and analysis.
The incident was classified as a drug/narcotic violation, with no injuries, weapons, or gang involvement reported.
