WOMAN CHARGED WITH DUI AND RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT

Crossville Police charged a woman with DUI and reckless endangerment after she attempted to leave the scene of a wreck Tuesday night. Officers responded to that crash on Highway 70 East and Main St at 7:30. The driver who tried to flee, 46-year-old Sharon Marie Houston, was stopped on Stanley St. by sheriff’s deputies. She failed several sobriety tests and during the course of the investigation, it was discovered that she had struck the other vehicle twice: Once initially, in the rear end, and a second time when she was trying to pull around it. When she tried steering around the vehicle, both its’ occupants were standing outside and were nearly hit. She was charged and then taken to the Justice Center for booking.
