WOMAN CHARGED WITH FILING A FALSE REPORT AGAINST HER SECRET BOYFRIEND

On Thursday, Cumberland County deputies were called to assist in a traffic stop on HWY 127 S for a possible domestic that occurred.

Authorities had pulled over a vehicle when the driver, identified as 38-year-old Jessica Reagan stated she had been assaulted. She told authorities that a male whom she is familiar with from Bledsoe County came out of the woods and was waving his arms toward her. Jessica stated she did not recognize who the male was until she stopped. She then knew him to be Jeffery Sapp. She claimed that he allegedly assaulted her by hitting her, choking her, busting her windshield, breaking her blinker and windshield wiper switch, and throwing a soda at her. She claimed she had a no-contact order in place in Bledsoe County against him.

However, the authorities did not observe any markings on her or her clothing. When checking with dispatch, they advised there was no paperwork in place.

Jessica stated that she does not talk to Sapp and was unsure how he got there. She told authorities she does not talk or associate with Jeffery and “he is crazy” and she is afraid “he is going to kill her”. Despite her allegations, she did not want to prosecute the assault.

When Sapp was confronted, he seemed very confused. He stated there was no argument or assault that occurred. Jessica had dropped him off and he was walking back to his hotel. Sapp explained to deputies that they have been in a relationship for over a year now. He also claimed she was pregnant with his child. Jeffery stated she stays with him during the day, while her husband thinks she is working at a nursing home, however, she is not working anywhere.

The deputy gave Jeffery a ride back to the hotel, where they observed Jessica retrieving several personal items from his room.

Deputies spoke with the hotel owner who stated that Jessica is the one who bought the hotel room. They stated that she stays there for long periods of time and that her windshield had actually been broken for a while now.

Jessica was placed into custody for filing a false report. Her bond was set at $3,000.
