WOMAN CITED FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A woman was cited recently for cruelty to animals in Cumberland County. The report from the sheriff’s office released this morning says a deputy was informed that a dog was left in a car parked at Pleasant Hill Elementary School on October 1. The dog had no water and it was unusually hot that day. Officers ran the tag on the vehicle revealing it was registered to 34-year-old Rebecca Renee Wilson of Jamestown. Two announcements were reportedly made in the gym during a basketball game for Wilson but no one answered. Nearly an hour later, Wilson returned to her vehicle. Wilson reportedly stated she didn’t realize it was so hot and thought she left the windows down.
