WOMAN HIDING IN BACKYARD CHARGED FOR POSSESSION AND IMPERSONATION

While attempting to serve a warrant on a man at an Elmore Lane home Saturday, Cumberland County deputies encountered 30-year-old Jennifer Lynn Hancock of Evensville, Tennessee, hiding in the backyard. She identified herself as Jessica McLean, but a woman at the home revealed the woman’s true identity, confirmed by a photo from Dispatch. Hancock said she thought she had a warrant in Rhea County, which is why she was hiding and gave a fake name. Deputies noticed a loaded syringe sticking out of her pocket that field tested positive for meth. Hancock was charged with criminal impersonation and simple possession and placed under $2,000 bond. She’s due in court March 4.
