One woman was taken to U.T. Medical Center this afternoon with burns to her hand after a house fire on Boyer Road near Andersonville.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office says the fire, which started as a grease fire and quickly escalated into a full-scale blaze, burned the house to the ground.

The blaze was reported just before 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time. According to authorities, the house has been declared a total loss.
