WOMAN’S IDENTITY STOLEN; USED TO TAKE OUT STUDENT LOANS

On Monday, September 23rd, a woman came to the Crossville Police Department and spoke to Sergeant Kevin Wood to report her personal information being stolen and used to take out student loans.

The woman said she had discovered on her credit report that two student loans had been taken out in her name totaling around $1,600. She found that the person or persons had used her personal information and previous living address to do this.

The loans were taken out on the 17th of August for the University of Phoenix. The woman was able to reverse search the phone number associated with the loans and he came back to a female living in Texas.

The victim stated that she does not attend the University of Phoenix and doesn’t know anyone who does.

No suspects are identified at this time.
