Work on a section of Highway 68 on the mountain between Spring City and Grandview continues. Jennifer Flynn, Community Relations Officer for TDOT, told 105.7 News this morning the geotechnical contractor has completed their portion of the work. TDOT maintenance crews will now be rebuilding and paving the roadway, after which they will install pavement markings and guardrail before reopening the road to two lanes. The recent rainy weather has put them behind schedule on this portion of the project. If the weather will cooperate, the project should be completely finished later this month (March 2020).
