Roane County Road Superintendent Dennis Ferguson said crews are scheduled to continue work on Old Airport Road this Monday or Tuesday (May 3-4, 2021). They are scheduled to replace guardrails at the site of the recent damaged area near the top of the mountain. If all goes as planned by late next week (roughly May 6-8, 2021) the road should be back open. Old Airport Road which has been closed now for 3 weeks, received substantial cracking again from recent heavy rainfall.
