WRECK ON I40 SUNDAY SNARLS TRAFFIC FOR HOURS
Sunday afternoon, emergency vehicles responded to an accident at the 354 westbound mile marker where a vehicle rolled over onto it’s side with a family of three inside. The passengers had to be removed from the wreckage by the Kingston Fire Department First Responders following the car leaving the road and striking the barrier cable . Fortunately no one was seriously injured, but it is believed a child in the vehicle was taken to the hospital for evaluation .The other two adults were not injured according to Kingston Fire Captain Michael Chavez.
The rescuers were able to get the occupants out of the vehicle through the front windshield .The highway patrol is investigating the crash . Traffic was backed up westbound for about two and a half miles at one point and even eastbound for a little while as well.
