WRECKS CAUSED BY ICY CONDITIONS FROM FRIDAY

On Friday last week, as the snow began to fall, many vehicles would lose control on the icy roads and end up in wrecks. Below are three such accidents tended to by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
1:49 p.m.
A 2021 Chevrolet Express van driven by Zaman A. Rohoman was traveling east on Interstate 40 in the left lane near mile marker 311. There was a heavy snowfall and the roadway was covered. As the van neared mile-marker 311, it left the roadway on the left side and traveled down the embankment in the median. Rohoman’s van struck a standing tree where it came to final rest. Thankfully, he would be uninjured.
1:50 p.m.
A 2019 Mercedes Sprintz van driven by Rodrigo Ferri Estudino was traveling west on Interstate 40 in the left lane near mile marker 337 with passenger Luciana Bordin. The van lost control and started to fishtail, then it left the roadway to the right and impacted a ditch. Estudino’s van then overturned coming to a final rest on the driver’s side in the ditch. No one was injured.
5:16 p.m.
A 2024 Freightliner tractor and semi-trailer driven by Mamu Ram was traveling west with passenger Kuldeep Singh near mile marker 326. The semi-truck left the roadway on the left side and went into the ditch, eventually coming to a final rest at the area of impact facing east, while its trailer faced southwest. No injuries were reported.
