YOUNG FEMALE EJECTED FROM VEHICLE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY ACCIDENT

The Tennessee Highway Patrol and medics responded yesterday morning to a vehicle crash on I-40 in Cumberland County.

The report states a 2011 Honda Accord driven by 18-year-old Madison Leigh Tate was traveling east negotiating a curve at the 336-mile marker. She lost control, spun counterclockwise, and left the road.

The vehicle overturned in a ditch and came to rest on its top.

Troopers say Tate was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was found by first responders about 75 feet from her vehicle in a wood line.

Tate was flown to an area trauma center for treatment of serious injuries.
